The Padmashri Gokak library started functioning from 20-06-1917 from the very day the Karnatak College came into existence. Library exists in a three storied independent building with a large, spacious well ventilated reading room. Being the oldest library in this part of the country, it has a large and valuable collection of books which exceed a lakh in number. About 2000 titles are being added every year and about 60 periodicals are subscribed too. There is a seating arrangement for about 200 students.

There are two text book libraries : - 1) U.G.C. 2) Student Aid Fund.

Timing : The library is kept open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on all working days. There is a library committee which guides the library in getting books and other related materials.

The rules and regulations to be followed by the students can be had from the librarian.

Departmental libraries : Apart from Dr.V.K.Gokak library, all the seven departments maintain their individual libraries existing in an independent room within the departmental buildings and maintaining books and journals on specific subjects.
