Akka Association is a unique association comprising of all the lady teaching faculty, girl students of M.Sc., B.Sc., B.C.A., and also the non-teaching lady staff members of the Karnatak Science College, Dharwad; all these ladies are the members of this association, which has a Chairperson and two student representatives. As the name suggests, ‘AKKA’ means an elder sister; the association takes care of the girl students and lady staff members. Its main motto is to strengthen the girl students in all aspects, and to build a happy and healthy environment among them.

Akka association organizes Workshops, Special Lectures and Extension programmes, giving priority to women education, awareness of law, Health issues and women entrepreneurship. Students are encouraged to participate in various programmes, seminars and conferences in the different fields, which are arranged not only in the college, but also other institutions. It also provides a platform for the girl students to come out with their hidden talents, like Dance, Music, Rangoli, Painting , Debating, and Cookery, by conducting various competitions .
