NSS Activities
DEPARTMENT OF MARATHI

Karnatak Science College has a well established NSS Unit consisting of one hundred volunteers. National Service Scheme (NSS) is beneficial to both students as well as society in various means. NSS helps the students to grow individually and also as a group. It makes the students confident, develop leadership skills and gain knowledge about different people and society.

NSS volunteers work in rural areas, adopted villages and in society through education and health awareness programs. NSS helps to develop sense of social and civic responsibility. The NSS unit of Karnatak Science College regularly conducts a number of programs every year in order to help the college and also the society. Some programs conducted by the NSS Unit of K.Sc.C.D are listed here.

  • NSS volunteers regularly participate in campus cleaning activities in the name of “Shramadana”. In this, volunteers are involved in “Plastic free campus programme” and ‘’cleaning campus programme’’.

  • Every year, fifty NSS volunteers participate in the “seven days rural NSS camp” conducted in selected village. In this camp, students develop leadership qualities, cleanliness of society and self confidence. Every day, there is a special lecture by resource persons from different fields. Cultural activities by students is one of the highlights of the NSS camp.
